Now, I’m not a professional chef, wedding planner, fitness guru, or beauty expert. These are, however, all things that I love! This blog started as a way for me to document little bits of my life for friends, family, and customers that have expressed some interest. The more I learn about the world, the more passionate I am about changing it. I do love this wonderful world we live in, but I think we can all be a little more mindful and compassionate in the way that we live. I try and live my life with one word in mind: honesty. What does that mean? Well, I have an honest, loving relationship with my amazing husband, Tom. I have chosen a career that is all about transparency (more on this later). I drastically limit my meat and dairy intake, I don’t drink alcohol, I work out every day, and I use only organic beauty products. I most definitely was not always this way, and I am still learning more and more each day. I want the world to be a better place because I was here, even if it’s marginal.

Why the Honest Promise? Well, I guess this started around the time I was looking for an engagement ring. I’d seen the movie Blood Diamond, so obviously I had a few questions about where my diamond would be coming from. The more research I did and the more industry experts I asked, the more I realized there was truly no way of knowing. Fortunately, there’s a new way… diamonds that are grown above the ground. I knew from the moment I got one for myself, that I had a duty to educate others about the horrors of the diamond industry, and the alternatives available. I’ve always been someone who couldn’t decide what I wanted to do with my life career-wise. But from the second I found out about grown diamonds, it hit me like a lightning bolt. I knew exactly what I wanted to do with my life, and for that I am grateful. I feel so amazing having made my promise to Tom (my husband) knowing for SURE that my diamond didn’t contribute to war, or torture, or corruption. I made an honest promise, and I hope I can inspire others to do the same!
